Available Savings
View all available savings opportunities across rightsizing, abandoned workloads, orphaned resources, and spot migration.
Overview
Available Savings
Available Savings shows the total cost reduction potential for a cluster. The page displays summary cards and clickable category cards that link to detailed recommendation pages.
Access: Select cluster (Clusters page or sidebar dropdown) > Available Savings
Summary Cards
Three cards at the top provide a high-level view:
- Total Potential Savings - Aggregate monthly savings across all recommendation categories
- Current Monthly Cost - The cluster's current monthly run rate
- Total Opportunities - Count of actionable recommendations
Optimization Categories
Each category is a clickable card showing the number of opportunities and estimated savings. Click a card to navigate to the detailed recommendation page for that category.
- Right-size Containers - Workloads with over-provisioned CPU or memory requests. Links to the Workload Rightsizing page.
- Manage Abandoned Workloads - Workloads with near-zero resource usage over an extended period. Links to the Abandoned Workloads page.
- Manage Orphaned Resources - Persistent volumes, services, or config maps no longer referenced by any workload. Links to the Orphaned Resources page.
- Spot Instance Migration - Workloads that can safely run on spot/preemptible instances. Links to the Spot Recommendations page.
- Right-size Cluster Nodes - Node groups where instance types are larger than necessary for the scheduled workloads. Links to Node Rightsizing recommendations.
Start with the category showing the highest savings potential. Container right-sizing and abandoned workloads typically deliver the fastest results.
